God Bless America!

Design team member Jennifer Davis used Helen Dardik's Patriotic Collection of patterned papers and embellishments for showcasing pictures of her daughter, Zoey's, Veteran's Day celebration at Pre-School this past year.  The papers are just so bright and lively and are perfect for capturing those patriotic events shared with family and friends throughout the year!

Fourth of July Fun!

In our home, the fourth of July is more than just celebrating the independence of our country, it is a celebration of family, food and friends. I look forward to the block party we have every year. For this year's celebration I used the Samantha Walker All American line of products along with the Ana Square ribbon plaque. This project will be used to decorate the front entrance of my home to greet my guests!

Happy Fourth of July!

Happy 4th Of July! 233 years ago, Congress approved the Declaration of Independence declaring America's sovereignty. Most people celebrate the National holiday with red, white, and blue, fireworks and parades, stars and stripes, flags and barbecues. Before you go enjoy America to its fullest, take a quick look at some fun 4th of July facts and some great projects just in time for the holiday!

  • Benjamin Franklin wanted the turkey to be the national animal but was outvoted when John Adams and Thomas Jefferson chose the bald eagle.
  • Over an estimated 150 million hot dogs will be consumed today.  That's roughly 1 dog for every two people in the U.S.
  • Over 211 million has been spent on the importation of fireworks from China
  • Oddly, the majority of the nation's flag and patriotic paraphernalia in relation to the 4th of July is produced in China.  Nearly $349 million dollars are used each year to import in the flags, banners, decorations and emblems.
  • The first 4th of July party held at the White House was in 1801.
  • The words "Under God" were not added to the Pledge of Allegiance until the year 1954.

Baseball!

Baseball is certainly a favorite sport in our home.  Most photos of my oldest son include a bat and/or ball in his hand.  He would play for hours, rain or snow!  With four boys in our family we have spent the past decade of  Spring seasons enjoying baseball games!  With two new grand babies, we may be enjoying many more years of T-ball and Little League!  Creating this layout was really quick and easy using the new Art Warehouse Die Cut Baseball Collection. I added Christine Adolph's Sports Xtreme baseball paper adding some red stitching using a fine line pen to each of the baseballs.

Swim

Design team member, Patty Lennon created a layout to highlight a recent Swim achievement!

Journaling reads: Way to go little man!  We were absolutely stunned when Gregory finished swimming the 50 meter backstroke.  We checked his entry time and then checked the time posted on the Colorado timer.  Could it be right?  Could he really have shaved off THAT much time?  If it was true, he had made his very first "A" time in the 9 - 10 boys' age group.  We were still standing there when his coach approached us with a huge smile on her face.  She was absolutely beaming and you could tell she was as excited and as proud as we were!  At the end of the two-day meet, not only was Gregory sporting his very first "A" medal, but he also won sixth place overall in his division.  This day was most definitely a day for celebration of hard work and dedication.
